Rachel Vetter, LCSW

I’m a licensed clinical social worker based in New York, working with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, OCD, trauma, and relationship patterns that feel difficult to shift.

My clinical style is warm, engaged, and attuned to both emotional experience and deeper underlying patterns.

I pay attention not only to what is said, but to what is felt, avoided, repeated, or held back.

My Approach

I integrate:

  • Psychodynamic therapy (understanding patterns over time)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Trauma-informed care

  • Somatic awareness

  • Relational and attachment-based work

  • Gottman-informed couples therapy

Therapy with me is active, but not rushed.

We slow things down enough to understand them clearly—so that change becomes possible in a more sustainable way.

What I believe about therapy

I don’t see therapy as a place where someone is “fixed.”

I see it as a place where:

  • Patterns become understandable

  • Emotional experience becomes more tolerable

  • Insight becomes usable in real life

  • And new ways of relating to self and others become possible
